Wired for surround sound and equipped with TV, DVD player and even a plethora of movies, your winter nights' entertainment is already built right in! Off-the-grid here means that water will be hauled from the community well and deposited into your cistern, and solar, batteries and a back up generator ensure you'll never be left in the dark. The cabin was constructed with 2 x 6 wall studs (instead of standard 2? x 4?) allowing enough space for R19 insulation in the walls. R30 insulation is in the ceiling and the cabin was fully wrapped in Tyvek, ensuring warmer winter nights. The low E windows are designed to have low heat loss while still allowing for solar heat gain. Interior construction includes drywall covered in tongue and groove aspen. The tin ceiling with it's smooth, light reflecting qualities was installed in 2019.
